Early access is open. Migration assistance is included with every plan.

Heroku alternatives in 2026

Heroku's deploy workflow is still the reference most platforms copy. Teams usually look elsewhere because of cost once they add performance dynos, databases and a staging pipeline, or because the common runtime regions are far from their users. These are the options that come up most often.

Why teams look elsewhere

Cost as you grow
Performance dynos, Postgres tiers and staging together can cost more than a dedicated server with more capacity.
No free tier
Free dynos were removed in 2022, so there's no low-cost entry point.
Distance from users
The common runtime is in the US and EU. Mumbai is available only through Private Spaces.

Questions

Will our Procfile work on 9live?

Process types map directly to 9live's configuration. Release phase, config variables and rollbacks all work.

What about Heroku add-ons?

PostgreSQL and Redis are part of 9live. For third-party add-ons such as SendGrid or Papertrail, sign up with the vendor directly; the API keys usually stay the same.
